Dr Malinga at It AGAIN with New ALBUM RELEASE after his FIRST INJECTION ALBUM...
Born in Temba, Hammanskraal, on the 07
July 1980 and his the First born Child and has three Siblings, He went
to Bokamoso high School in Stinkwater north of Pretoria, His a Father of
two kids a Son and two year 8 Months old baby Girl, He used to buy his
suites in Small Street and changes the design, he started Singing at a
younger age, he used to sing gospel and then went to Afro songs.
His
first job was handing advertising Pamphlets for Furniture shops
His lucky break came in 1998 when Phumi
Maduna of Cheek Cheek was singing for a promotion outside Russell's
Furniture shop, when she took a break he took a mic and began singing,
Telling people about Sales Specials from the Pamphlet.
His First Payment was R200, and was also
given a Cellphone for them to be able to get hold of him when the want
him to come and advertise.
Then he became one of those guys who
sings outside furniture shops, enticing Customers into the shops, He
also used to enter Competition and won the Mbabane Cultural Calabash
Competition three years in a row, He also won a Mazda 3 when he entered
Voice of choice held on Thobela Radio.by bursting into a Rebecca song at
the top of his voice and mimics her exactly.
Rebecca is his idol,For voice of choice Finals he sang
Brenda Fassie Weekend Special and it was in 2004, that’s how the Mazda 3
was won and he sell it and bought the Venture but it was stolen from
him with a Gunpoint, in the meantime he was still promoting Furniture
shops like Rhino Cash and Carry, Russell's, Lewis and Joshua door,His first big hit was Casanova with Dj
Choice and it was nominated for record of the year, and his Second big
hit was Father to be with Kalawa Jazmee newcomers, Black Motion which
was also nominated for awards. Oskido and All Directors of Kalawa Jazmee
sat up and took notice,Oskido organized a meeting for him. He
said he wanted to do something in 2012.he met with Kalawa Producers the
next day and put him in the booth and sang Jika and other 7 songs with
no Pen or Paper Freestyling and Composing them, Oskido was so excited
and call Bruce Dope,Stoan,Mjokes and Mahoota,Within three days they give
him a contract.
He was signed by Kalawa in 2011 ,He also give youth a chance to get educated by Launching Dr Malinga Foundation by helping them with bursaries,His First Album was released in 2014
October 10 titled First injection, He had a big break when he sang a
song Via Orlando he was featured by Vetkuk Vs Mahoota which was also
nominated for top awards. He calls his Famous dance Linga Dance .
His now
an Ambassador of South African Tourism, His also an Event organizer
organizing big events working hand in hand with City of Tshwane and
other Provinces including Mpumalanga and Free State he used to act on
Ekasi story and now his acting in one of the biggest Sitcom in South
Africa Gauteng Maboneng 2 which Plays on SABC 2, In year 2012 and 2013
he was voted the most talked about Celebrity in South Africa. He
performed in top events and Awards Ceremony like Channel Metro FM
awards, TV Base, Sports awards, Talent awards and many other awards. He
even went and Perform abroad like in England and many other African
Countries.
He also did many TV Adverts like Shot
left,MTN advert, Shield and also own a clothing Label Wadijaja by Dr
Malinga, He does not drink or Smoke he deserve to be a living legend
because he created his own dance moves, Unique voice that everyone likes
and it’s a man of many talents.
Lately he was nominated for Best New Artist for 14th
Metro FM Music Awards. And he signed two Energetic Artists on his label
Lingas Entertainment by the names Mr Style and Josta along with a new
Hip Hop artist by the name of Royal Suave.
With his new album that was released this monday under his record label,Dr Malinga is just blessed to make the world a better place with his sound and songs.
Dr Malinga is a South African House, Afropop/Jazz and Gospel singer/songwriter best known for his highly energetic performances and his trademark high kick.
He made his screen acting debut on Monday 16 September, 2013, in an episode of the e.tv anthology drama series eKasi: Our Stories, titled "Spin-Stars" (Season 5, Episode 10), in which he plays a man eager to join the spinning community who goes out in search of a car and is conned by a man who sells him a BMW "Gusheshe" 331 - which is stolen.
He landed his first starring role in television in 2014 in the second season of the SABC2 sitcom Gauteng Maboneng, replacing Mahlubi Kraai in the lead role of Lebo.
Dr Malinga grew up in Themba, Hammanskraal.
